Users can meet their friends and new players virtually, regardless of what games they are playing, simply by sharing their game information across different dimensions of time and distance.
LiveArea and Activity Log - Every game title for PlayStation Vita will be provided with a space called "LiveArea" where users can share the fun and excitement with other players. Users will have access to the latest information of games provided from SCE and third party developers and publishers through PlayStation Network. Additionally, Vita users will be able to view "Activity Log" which is constantly updated with accomplishments from users who are playing the same game, which in turn can trigger active real-time communication among users.
In addition to containing the best in new handheld gaming hardware technology, Sony's PlayStation Vita provides users with the best in quality content. Joining these new offerings, players will also have full wireless access to the PlayStation Store. Here, via Vita's improved Wi-Fi capabilities owners can download new game add-ons, movies, comics and PS One classics ported over for handheld play. Together this powerful merging of hardware and software is destined to create entertainment experiences unlike anything else available in the handheld gaming market.
Multi-touch pad on the rear of the device. Dual analog sticks. My aesthetic sense will take days to recover :. As for the bundle. Everything surrounding this system screams incompetence. Want to sell the system? Create awesome, system selling games that people actually want. Killzone and Tearaway seem to be a step in the right direction, but man are they late in the day and what happens after they release and indeed until then? The problem with this is the user experience for memory card switching is absolutely terrible.
Buying a filled one is a recipe for frustration and rearranging your icons. Forbisher Says and Ecolibrium is a waste.
And an 8GB card will fill up with all these games anyways but still. A price cut and a new colour for Vita would be nice. Hi fred is there any plans to release these with bigger cards like 16gb, 32gb? I already have 8gb and tend to download everything i own, so i always run out of space lol. Thank you for ignoring all other European countries.
What is next, no Gaikai, no Netflix. Thanks for not caring. To clarify, the Mega Pack is available across Europe. Is this coming to Finland? Nice idea, but you should make it more easy to use multiple memorycards for Vita. I think this 8 GB card will be full already after downloading those games.
And I for one dont like to have to delete games, I rather buy a new card once in a while, fill it up with games, and then buying another one. But the Vita doesnt really support switching memorycards. If it did, this would be a great deal for people already having a memorycard full of games. I would maybe pick it up, as its not a bad price for LBP with a Mem card, but thats all i get from it.
Really genius to bundle a mere 8GB card with 10 games. I guess I have to change my pre-order to this model now. Pre order it done. Bowstar October 27, at am PDT. Locke October 27, at am PDT. Order is placed.
I love it! Ftwrthtx October 27, at am PDT. Can I get the Canadian edition in the U. Nightmare October 27, at am PDT.
Crotin October 27, at am PDT. Brklynty1 October 27, at am PDT. Why is there no wifi only bundle for US? Some of us would like that option :.
E that price anyway so a bundle is out of reach. Nemisis October 27, at am PDT. Koshuu October 27, at am PDT. Enigma October 27, at am PDT. On IGN they say there will not be flash player enabled at launch. But I dont want the 3G model. Zezzler October 27, at am PDT. Thank you for including Canada in this bundle. I shall pre-order immediately. Munkeh October 27, at am PDT. No buy for me…. Awesome deal!!! Is any other retailer will have this bundle besides Amazon???
Now if the trophy support is shared from my PSN. Even though there's a "touch mode," this one's best experienced with buttons only. Wipeout Another great example of the sheer processing power the Vita packs in, Wipeout is a fast, dazzling racer that displays lightning-quick visuals. The pace to the racing is great, though it can spiral into anarchy at any given moment. Wipeout is a classic PlayStation franchise, and continues the legacy.
While it's an odd concept you roll over items to make your Katamari ball bigger , it's extremely accessible, and the Vita's rear touch panel works great to stretch your Katamari. Pick up Touch My Katamari if you're interested in a game that you can pick up and play in short spurts.
I downloaded Super Stardust Delta fairly quickly, and the Vita performed this in the background. The store interface is tailored for touch controls and is split up into two main categories, Game and Video.
Judging by the initial pricing, purchasing full Vita games from the Store will net you a small discount. The 3DS and the rest of the portable gaming landscape Over the last couple of years the Vita and 3DS have taken separate paths although they appear to have overlapped in a few areas. Indie gaming has erupted on both platforms, allowing for the purchasing of inexpensive and entertaining titles.
Their small size also makes it easy to carry dozens of games on the go. Only a handful of titles can be labeled as "must-own" on the Vita and only in the last year has things really begun to pick up steam on the indie side of things. Games like Spelunky and Guacamelee!
Only recently has Killzone: Mercenary made its way to the handheld, which is the shooter diamond in what's otherwise a gigantic rough.
Conclusion Should you buy a PlayStation Vita? If you're a fan of indie games it's almost a no-brainer. There are plenty of titles that launch simultaneously on PS3 and Vita, and one purchase allows play on both platforms. Sure, the cost of getting started is probably more than you thought, but the Vita's fantastic launch lineup, laundry-list of features, cool apps, silky smooth OS, and promising future definitely make a great case for owning one.
Will Sony restyle the Vita at some point? Almost certainly they did. But in terms of a first effort, the Vita is a complete package. Where a lull in AAA games has evolved, the Vita makes up for with an impressive amount of indie titles. Of course with the impending release of the Vita , we'd have to recommend -- at the very least -- waiting to see what it performs like. Keep it here for our review of the Vita !
Jeff Bakalar. The system's game lineup has matured into an indie haven, though AAA titles are scarce. The Vita allows for downloading of some games including all first-party titles over the PlayStation Network.
The Vita's operating system is smartly designed, easy to use, and ultraresponsive. The unit feels great to hold and has excellent standby battery life.
The Vita uses proprietary media and connections across the board, and even requires the purchase of a separate memory card to play most games and use most apps, which results in a hidden cost. Battery life could be better, and there's no way it can be replaced by the user.
There's also no video out. It's also unclear how much storage the Vita has onboard, and it'll cost you more money for larger Vita Memory Cards. Overall, the PlayStation Vita is the most advanced portable gaming system ever made. While the price is deceiving because of a hidden cost, gamers are getting an impressively complete package.
