I found this super helpful and also I think you are funny! I am excited to go out and get some of these suggestions.

Would you recommend having more than one? Since so many of them now offer personal goals and routines? I also have Wii Fit Plus which I love. Which one is best? Also, there will be a new My Fitness Coach coming out next week and I would like to know will you review that game. I hope this new one is more interactive then the last one.

I just got the Wii and Wii Fit Plus for christmas and after using it for 3 days I was so sore that I could hardly move and it was just what I had been looking for! I have been reading alot of reviews on other fitness games and am still up in the air on what to purchase next….

Biggest Loser or Wii Active — Do you have any input on which game would keep me moving?! Hi I can not afford the balance board at this time, but really want to start the new year off with a good diet and exercise. Thank you. Ps so glad i found this site. I have only tried the Biggest Loser out of all of these, but it has on option to play with the balance board or without.

It appears to be the exact same workouts either way. I actually kind of prefer it without. I am looking for a Wii game that will help my husband and I put in weight stats and then compete against each other to track out loss and improvement. And work out together is a big must so that we can push each other a bit. Would love any suggestions. I am looking for a Wii game that my husband and I can use together and as competition.

A game that lets us enter our stats and then show any losses and improvements. I would like to work out with him and against him. Any suggestions? Fortunately I got it for free to demo. My all time new favorite by far though is Just Dance! Sooo much fun and by far the best cardio of anything. Anything else coming up in the future now that this latest batch of games have been released?

I think that a good step aerobic game would be very popular, and am surprised nothing like that has come out yet.

I will put this on my list of favorites and continue to check back often. You do an excellent job of giving a very comprehensive and unbiased opinion. Thanks again! Part of that is that the My Routines only include Yoga and Strength options. You need to play each aerobics exercise individually and then set up the next one. It would be nive to be able to string them together in the My Routines menu.

I do feel my muscles working it, specially the next day. Not hurting, but I can tell they are being used. We also have a 6 and 8 year olds. The Balance Board exercises and games work based on your weight.

So, if you have kids, it is great to have that in there. One last thing, it would be great to have reviews of DDR dance mats. I have one that kind of moves around on carpet. Being on carpet, it also does not register some moves which makes it frustrating. I am thinking in gluing some plywood underneath it. Any suggestions on a site that reviews DDR style dance mats?

I have not been able to find any. I just wanted to say thank you for this list! Thank you! Then I bought EA Sports Active the first one and it had set workout programs to follow which was a big plus.. Now that its i just bought Fit Plus because of all the new exercises and I look forward to the fun ones.. I weigh just under and cannot do squats as low as the game requires. The game hung so that even taking the nunchuk off of my leg and lowering it lower did not get the game moving again, I had to turn off the Console to abort the game.

We resolved it by having her sit on the couch instead of actual squats. It works the same muscles if you use proper form.

After a while she was able to move down to the couch more slowly with more stability. Hey everyone! Just wanted to say thanks for all the comments! Rest assured, I will continue to keep it updated with the very best out there. Stay tuned, and thanks for visiting!

Just before christmas I bought 5 fitness games and I found all the reviews here very helpful. Best page on Wii fitness games on the web. After having used them for a while I have decided to just keep Wii fit plus and EA sports Active: more workouts.

They are by far the best of the bunch. You can find reviews on eg. They are simply games where you imitate sports movements in order to win. Thanks for creating this awesome website. It is so jam packed with great information. I have been having lots of fun with Wii Fit but would now like to get something new. I particularly like the step plus and balance components of Wii Fit and am looking for something similar but that will push my energy levels to the max. I would appreciate any advice on what you think will allow me to develop and have fun?

Cheers Linda. I agree with the EAS game being 1. Wii fit and Biggest Loser are just way too easy and not much of a workout. One game that maybe came out after you made this list is Walk It Out. It sounds like an incredibly dumb game concept — but it has me doing a LOT of walking, and I think it is a bit like interval training, since some of the songs have slower beats, others faster, and you are trying to step in time with the beat.

And some of the time, I am basically jogging. Much better for the calves, and I suspect a better workout, too. What do you suggest for a senior citizen who has been critically ill for a year I had a Systemic Lupus Errythematosis flare-up that kept me pretty much bed ridden for 9 months. I need something to help me get back my muscle tone and just feel better in general. Thank you for your help. I would definitely try Walk It Out by Konami. I would play it while carrying some very light hand weights to get muscle tone on both your arms and legs.

Really like your Wii exercise reviews. Wii Fit is good, but want something to really make me move! Will probably buy Just Dance, based on all of the comments I see here. Also would like to see a Wii Zumba…. Anyone looking for a real workout should consider this. I followed this link from one of your Amazon reviews, and I am so glad I did!

Your reviews are great. I have EA sports personal trainer part one and love it, but have been doing the excercises for almost over a year and really dont feel like it isnt challenging me much even on high intensity.

I really want to buy part 2, do you feel like it is more challenging than the first? BTW my husband just started using EA sports personal trainer with me and he loves it, he swears his back has not bothered him since he started it!!!! Hi DavidG. My Fitness Coach had been on this list for a long time, but as you referenced, it was its lack of true interactivity that bumped it off the list.

Still, having been a former top ten title, is forever immortalized in the Best of the Rest Wii Fitness Games list. I have wii fit plus but am gettin so bored with it what is another fitness game that is good for someone who weighs kg? I have no idea every time I look at a video they have some skinny as girl. Thanks for all of the great info. My husband and I are new to the wii and all that it offers. So far it seems as if everything is set to be single player.

Stephanie, thanks for keeping me on my toes no pun intended :. I will be posting a review of Dance Sensation as soon as I can get a copy. Good luck! The price of Active Life Extreme challenge went way! Thanks for this list! I tend to get bored if I play the same thing too many times in a row, so I like to mix things up a bit. Thank you again! This was very helpful. Interrogation like a drill seargent to get going. I just want to plug it in and go.

I love the Wii Active, but the leg strap drives me crazy. Especially during the lounges or squats. Any suggestions on getting the fit of the leg strap right so I can enjoy this game more? Works great so far i have lost 8 pounds. The only hard part is that in order for it to work you must go on a diet.

Kudos on a fantastic compilation of helpful reviews for those of us who would like to use the wii for exercise. I love how you rate the games by intensity AND fun factor. That makes it a heck of a lot easier to choose the right game. Thanks so much for all of your hard work! Thanks for a great wrap up on the exergames for Wii.

Did I overlook something? Just seems like such a crazy omission. First of I love your site! Ea Active Sports More Workouts is next. Than Ea Sports Active 2. Thank you for this list. These are excelant reviews! When are you going to review Wii 10 Mintue Solutions? What neat information…I am a 75 year old senior and I have been pretty active at excerising…I would like to use my Wii game and board for excerise but not sure which Wii game to choose.

I do have some arthritis but can move without pain and pretty actively. Thanks for any input…. Hi Cassie. It will also have two-player mode so you can play against each other. One thing that is nice to know is statistics on the programs such as how many different exercises are there and how long do they last if each is done once. The Wii Fit Plus has 18 Yoga exercises, 15 strength exercises, 9 aerobic and some games. The Yoga and Strength exercises combined last about 1 hour in the fastest mode routine mode.

In the training mode it takes longer since the results are judged and a score is given. Also in the training mode the strength exercises can be changed to advanced mode.

The Wii Fit Plus takes good advantage of the Balance Board by having most of the exercises emphasize balance and form. I also like that many of the exercises can be done by beginners but some get difficult in the advanced mode.

Try doing the One Arm Stand in the 20 repetition mode. Also the push-up, jack knife and plank challenges are a good workout for advanced users. The aerobics are ok and are scored so that adds a challenge but they are not for advanced users. I started with them but eventually started jogging outdoors for aerobics. The dance programs recommended here would probably be better. Most of the exercises are for mid and lower body but there are a few for the upper body.

Separate weight training would be needed for a full upper body workout. Thanks for this very helpful guide. I imagine that like me many people find this useful.

This will definitely help me with my future Wii game purchases. Thanks again for the excellent guide. I was wondering if there was an exercise game based on martial arts for the Wii. I thought I saw a commercial about a year ago featuring 2 characters facing each other doing Karate or Kung Fu or something like that. This is a great site!

Thanks for this list. I am just around one month in with my Wii Fit Plus and still really enjoying myself a lot with it. But, I had no idea there were so many other great Wii fitness style games available. Now that I know there are all these great games to try out I will be taking her up on her offer so I can try some of your suggestions and decide which ones will go on my Christmas list.

Thanks for updating the list. I have about half of these games. I have the first 2 games. Should I trade in the first 2 for the new one? Also what Wii exercise accessories or just fitness accessories in general do u recommend? What about the nest Wii Exercise games that are currently still in Japan?

With a possible USA release soon?? Hi, So glad I found the site. I purchased a Wii for my kids this Christmas and am looking to buy a an exercise game for me to use, too!

I am wondering if you can recommend games that are easy on the knees, but still offer a good workout. I am leaning towards Wii Fit Plus. EA Sports sounds like it might be too hard on my knees?

Does the branding and the familiar faces and name should give it a better rating instead? I am looking for some sort of weight training to add to my workouts. All I seem to find in Wii is cardio.. I was wondering, have you tried the Golds Gym Cardio Workout? I was wondering how that one is…? Also, I have been looking for some 2 player exercise games; my friend and I have been exercising together for motivation and would like to do it together instead of just watching each other!

The best thing is, it's all in a free-to-play app on your phone so it's relatively easy to access. The Switch game offers you workouts overseen by a virtual trainer, where you use your Joy-Con motion controllers to perform punches and dodging maneuvers, with the difficulty increasing gradually over time. The game uses your weight and height to estimate your fitness age and calorie burn, setting the routine, length and intensity of these workouts based on this, however these can be adjusted if you're not happy.

It's a great workout for those who want a fairly-straightforward boxing workout without all the bells and whistles. Beat Saber isn't marketed as a fitness game - but it sure should be. The VR rhythm game sees you ducking and dodging while swinging your arms to slice the blocks flying your way - all to some amazing tunes.

It's one of the best VR games on the market for a reason. The beauty of Beat Saber is that you don't really notice the physical exertion you're putting into it because it's so much fun - but you'll certainly feel it tomorrow. Peripherals needed: Supported VR headset and tracked motion controllers.

Yet another fitness game offering from Nintendo, Zumba: Burn It Up is the newest addition to the Zumba video game series. Burn It Up essentially offers you a private Zumba lesson in your home, with 30 high-energy classes to get your heart-pumping and some great tunes for you to shake your hips to.

It's an official Zumba product that features real-life instructors, so you know it's legit. Plus, you can get up to three friends to join you for the tortur- sorry, fun. Now, we know what you're going to say: "Wii Fit is old". Well, actually, we've included some older fitness games on this list because you may want to drag your old consoles out of the closet, brush off the dust and get your fill of exercise - without having to pay out for the latest game and its peripherals.

Wii Fit Plus is the enhanced version of Wii Fit, offering Wii Fit's original games alongside a bunch of 'new' games that help you work on aerobics, strength, balance and yoga. You can play these games, create your own fitness regimes or take part in specialized routines - and what's more, there are some multiplayer activities that allow you to play and workout with friends.

Wii Fit Plus is a classic and, even if you don't already have one, you can pick up a Wii Fit Balance Board for pretty cheap nowadays. Ok so, Wii Sports isn't exactly on the same level as the likes of Zumba when it comes to getting you moving- but it's still a fitness game. Wii Sports offers five sports to play: baseball, bowling, tennis, golf and boxing.

You use your Wii remote to mimic the actions you would do if you were actually taking part in the sport. In addition, there are training and fitness modes available that monitor players' progress. Plus, you don't have to play alone! All the activities are available to play multiplayer so you can beat your pal at tennis without having to step on the court. Prefer to get your exercise through the medium of dance?

Then Just Dance is just the ticket. The most recent addition in long-running dance series includes tunes from artists such as Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X and Ariana Grande that will keep you grooving for hours on end - and building up one heck of a sweat.

You don't even need motion controls or a console camera necessarily, as downloading the Just Dance Controller app will allow you to track all your moves through your smartphone. Another VR fitness game that will put you through your paces, Knockout League is an arcade-style boxing game that sees you immersing yourself in the fight.
